On November 1st, 109 volunteers of the Hellenic Rescue Team from all over Greece took part in the air rescue exercise held on Friday 7, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 October, at the 111th Combat Wing in Aghialo, Prefecture of Magnesia.

In the context of the exercise, which is organized by HRT every year, the first Greek field trial of the European PathoCERT Project was integrated, with the support of the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence from the University of Cyprus

More specifically, the PathoDRONE – Mapping technology was tested in the field, where a drone pilot and researcher from KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence came to test it in collaboration with our Water Rescue Department.

The exercise included procedures for safe movement and cooperation with the helicopter, telecommunications, cooperation between the helicopter and the boat, and visual signals with the helicopter, while it was followed by training in rescue procedures at sea. The two rescue boats, Rescue 1 and Odin, and two rescue runners participated in the exercise.
